HR Manager
Location: South Central, US
Compensation: $100K-$150K
Our client, a thriving multi-location powersports dealership group, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and execute all core HR functions across the organization. This role supports approximately 300–350 employees and is based at the company’s corporate headquarters, with ongoing collaboration and support of dealership leadership teams across multiple locations.
This is a hands-on HR leadership role responsible for day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and process execution. The Human Resources Manager will lead a small HR team (one to two team members) and work closely with accounting, payroll, and dealership leadership to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment across the organization.
Experience in powersports, motorcycle, automotive, marine, RV, or other high-volume retail vehicle environments is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Operations
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for dealership leadership and corporate management
- Oversee daily HR operations across multiple dealership locations
- Lead, mentor, and support a small HR team, ensuring accurate and timely execution of HR processes
- Translate company policies and leadership direction into practical, consistent HR practices
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage and support recruiting efforts for hourly, administrative, and management roles
- Partner closely with dealership leaders on hiring needs, job postings, and candidate selection
- Coordinate interviews, offers, onboarding, and new-hire documentation
- Ensure onboarding processes are consistent, compliant, and set employees up for success
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Manage employee relations matters, including coaching, corrective action, investigations, and terminations
- Support managers with performance documentation, discipline, and conflict resolution
- Assist in maintaining consistent performance management and review processes
- Serve as a trusted, professional resource for both employees and leadership
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and HR procedures
- Oversee workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and leave administration (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Minimize organizational risk through training, documentation, and best-practice guidance
Compensation, Benefits & HR Systems
- Administer employee benefits programs, enrollments, and employee communications
- Support compensation structures, pay changes, and incentive administration in partnership with leadership
- Collaborate closely with accounting and payroll teams to ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain HRIS data, reporting, and employee records
Culture, Engagement & Development
- Support and reinforce company culture, values, and leadership expectations
- Assist with manager and supervisor training initiatives
- Promote employee engagement, retention, and professional development
- Help drive consistency in leadership standards across all dealership locations
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with hands-on HR management responsibilities
- Experience supporting multi-location or distributed retail operations
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance
- Comfortable operating in a lean HR environment with broad responsibility
- Effective collaborator with dealership leadership, accounting, and operations teams
- Prior experience in powersports, automotive, marine, RV, or similar retail dealership environments preferred
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and retail or dealership software platforms
